Public bug reported:
In Intrepid Alpha 5 and all previous Alpha versions (ALTERNATE CD
version) that I have tested the "shutdown" function on the System / Quit
menu does not seem to function correctly.
Instead of performing a shutdown, it performs a log out of the current
user session and then prompts for the login of a new user session.
When I try to down a manual shutdown from the terminal, certain versions
of the shutdown command do not work correctly either. To the best of my
recall, if I do "sudo shutdown now -r", instead of ending the Ubuntu
session and restarting the computer, it goes to some type of text based
recovery menu with several choices on it for performing recovery of
certain O/S sections, such as X-server, and etc., etc.
Thanks.
