Does this fix it?
In section "Section "Device"" in /etc/X11/xorg.conf add the line:
Option "monitor-LVDS" "LVDS"
Then the following new section:
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "LVDS"
Option "Ignore" "True"
EndSection
