Hi Jonathan, Thanks for explaining that. The installed Konqueror version is 3.5.9. The Konqueror KDE4 entry in the package manager is the only entry for Konqueror; so it doesn't know that the Konqueror 3.5.9 is installed and can't remove it. On the other hand aptitude shows that Konqueror 3.5.9 is installed (attached screenshot); so I still think the package manager isn't entirely trustworthy.
