I am willing to provide the info needed to debug but dont know what to
do. the guarddog bug pops up every time i try to install, upgrade or
remove packages.

example i atttempted to remove the package scorched3d.

sometimes the previous attempt to install/remove stuff leaves a mess
behind so this time i invoke apt-get by command line to remove
scorched3d (sudo apt-get remove scorched3d) and the beast answers:

# dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to
correct the problem.

now I issue the command dpkg --configure -a

and it answers:

dpkg: error processing guarddog (--configure):
the subprocess post-installation script returned an error code 134
Configuring orage (4.5.14.0-1ubuntu1~hardy1) ... (blah blah)

Processing triggers for libc6 ...
ldconfig deferred processing now taking place
Sono occorsi degli errori processando: (=errors occurred processing:)
