I've seen out there that this odd behaviour it may be related to the use of ATI video cards in Linux, because there are not properly developed drivers yet.. My video card it's ATI Radeon 9200 series.
But my other PC does not have an ATI video card and it happened that not opening some applications (just from time to time), as well. Perhaps it is that both computers are not too fast and sometimes it get somehow overwhelmed. One it has a AMD Sempron 2800+ with 757 MB of memory and the ATI Radeon video card. And the other computer it is an AMD Athlon 1200+ with 358 of RAM and an integrated video card. I am not sure if it is a bug of a specific application or if it is some "feature" relating Ubuntu or Gnome. I don't remember that it happened to me in Mandriva nor in Opensuse. -- "gksu /usr/sbin/gdmsetup" window vanishes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/256681 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
