I have a Radeon RV100 QY [Radeon 7000/VE], and I get the same effect
(very slow performance, especially on fill operations) with xserver-
xorg-video-ati 1:6.8.0-1; I'm running Hardy at the moment. I'll see
about getting a Live CD for Intrepid and testing it out on Alpha 5.
