Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubuntu-desktop
I use CDMA Mobile phone to access internet outside my home. In earlier versions (5.10, 6.06) of Ubuntu I was setting up this modem through "Networking" menu. There was an "activate" button and after clicking on it the system was getting connected to internet by running pppd. In Ubuntu Edgy the "activate" button has been replaced by a "checkbox" and the manual says that if you check the box the connection gets activated. While this is true for "eth" connections, no connection is established for the "Modem". ** Affects: ubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed ** Description changed: Binary package hint: ubuntu-desktop - use CDMA Mobile phone to access internet outside my home.
