I am using am edgy (stable) release.
Krita reproducibly crashes on the following conditions:
1. Launch ksnapshot (it will make a screenshot automatically).
2. Launch Krita.
3. Create any new file in Krita.
4. Click "Copy to clipboard" in ksnapshot.
5. Click Edit->Paste in Krita, select "As on Monitor".
and krita cashes.
The same screenshot file saved from ksnapshot as png opens normally in
krita
