The fix in bug 67889 is supposed to fix only the crashes that have the following in the stack trace: #6 0xb6785b25 in libhal_ctx_shutdown () from /usr/lib/libhal.so.1 #7 0xb67a5607 in KSMShutdownDlg::~KSMShutdownDlg ()
This is what is reported by xinix and Risto H. Kurppa. KDE 3.5.5 for dapper also has the ksmserver logout suspend patch and therefore also have this issue. And yes, this is Kubuntu specific issue (as the bug is in Kubuntu patch and not in KDE code). As we would like to issue the fix for this in edgy-updates, it would be good to confirm that this bug is duplicate of bug 67889. xinix: can you try the test binary from bug 67889 and confirm that this works for you? Risto: do you get the crash dialog? Do you get the stack traces with above lines? It may be that you are not experiencing this bug, but rather bug 30447 - I also had this problem with fglrx and TerminateServer=true workaround in /etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc helped. Travis: thanks for confirmation that the fix solves it for you. -- ksmserver crashes on logout w/ Xgl as session https://launchpad.net/bugs/67809 -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
