I see the same problem (in Intrepid, but it was also the case in Hardy) on a Sony Viao laptop with i945GM chipset :
- if desktop effects (compiz) are enabled, when system suspends or hibernates, it will freeze with a black screen during the process (and so will not really suspend). Only way out is hard power down. - if compiz is disabled, everything works fine (suspend, hibernate, etc.) - worked fine with deprecated i810 driver on Gusty xrandr says: Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1280 x 800, maximum 1280 x 1280 VGA disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) LVDS connected 1280x800+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 0mm x 0mm 1280x800 59.8*+ 1024x768 85.0 75.0 70.1 60.0 832x624 74.6 800x600 85.1 72.2 75.0 60.3 56.2 640x480 85.0 72.8 75.0 59.9 720x400 85.0 640x400 85.1 640x350 85.1 TV disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axi No xorg.conf (autodetect) Xorg.0.log attached. ** Attachment added: "Xorg.0.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/17534033/Xorg.0.log -- Intrepid freeze when lock or blank the screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/267977 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
