I did what you asked so far, I now have only ubuntu repositories installed, not even virtual box ose or any dependencies and no etch- backports either. I will go down for a beauty sleep now, when I wake up, I will do the memory test again. Anyway, I am smart enough to realise that I should refrain from reporting any more bugs if it is a hardware problem, but I doubt it.
