Public bug reported:

I keep my /home on a separate JFS partition. I keep a number of different
partitions on JFS. I really like and prefer its performance to EXT3. But, it
appears that it doesn't always cleanly unmount it or something like that.
Because when I start up the OS (Edgy). It doesnt mount and will sometimes
refuse to mount my /home partition until I fsck.jfs /dev/hdc3 after it has done
that (it never seems to report any errors) mount -a will work fine. Then I can
log in as normal.
The problem seemed to appear regularly with this partition when I resized it.
It is now a 60gb partition (although I think that that may be a red herring).
It seems as though JFS is not being cleanly unmounted when I log out of my
system, either that or it is creating corruption issues that only seem to show
up when I mount the partition. I think that this is important as JFS is a great
file system when it is working correctly and it is under going a surge in usage.
