after looking a bit closer into the code, it seems that an internal
table got somehow corrupted. How that can happen is totally unclear to
me. In order to investigate the issue deeper, I'd really need an example
file demonstrating the crash.

The problem might be that gstreamer-ffmpeg is expecting ffmpeg to have
an h263 encoder and decoder, but we stripped the encoder registration
out. Again, something I cannot easily tell without access to an example
file that demostrates the crash.

** Summary changed:

- totem-gstreamer-video-indexer crashed with SIGSEGV in init_vlc_rl()
+ gstreamer-ffmpeg crashes while indexing an h263 file

** Also affects: gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Undecided
       Status: New
