I have same problem and I use dual booting system (Ubuntu 8.04 and Windows XP) from my Dell desktop. Somehow, the second screen displays same contents as the main one, and the System->Preferences->Screen Resolution menu doesn't seem to allow the second monitor to display different contents. FYI, gksu displayconfig-gtk also shows the second monitor as MONITOR 1 and the radio button for the secondary screen is disabled. HELP!!!!
