I'm seeing the following error message in your logs:

manually.
The file `/var/run/grub/menu.lst.ucf-new' has a record of the failed
merge of the configuration file.
Care to attach your /var/run/grub/menu.lst file? Also
/var/run/grub/menu.lst.ucf-new might be useful to see as well. Thanks.
