Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
Although Xorg loads and compiz functions - all functionality is as
expected - the correct resolution, though apparently detected (see
Xorg.0.log), is not and cannot be employed, either manually or
automatically. The screen, ideally at 1280x800, is always displayed at
1024x768. I cannot test with an xorg.conf, as I have been unable to
generate one that works: dpkg produces only a skeleton, and anything
produced by displayconfig-gtk is rejected (though no sign of why is
given in Xorg.?.log) and gives only the bulletproof-x fallback. I am
unsure whether I should report any bug against displayconfig-gtk, as I
am unsure also whether it is now obsolete, or still recommended, or
whatever.
** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
