Public bug reported:
I've just finishedinstalling xubuntu and to my dissapointment the
install gave me a broken system. Whenever I logged on to XFCE no taskbar
or panel appeared. The only components which were present were the USB
drive icon and the trashbin.
I installed it over a kubuntu system where the root partition was
formatted but the /home partition was kept from a previous Kubuntu
install, where a previous borked XFCE was attempted.
