I don't have any sound output from my Asus K8V-MX/AMD Sempron 2800+ box
running 8.04. I followed the trouble shooting guide at
help.ubuntu.com/community/SoundTroubleshooting- see attached file.
I also reinstalled Alsa-base using Synaptic without any success. AC'97
is enabled in BIOS and nothing is muted in the ALSA mixer. This problem
was also noticed in ver 7 and 6 of Ubuntu- I never managed to get sound
out of the machine. Lastly, I reinstalled 8.04 all over again.
