I retested the problem again this morning.
I can log in and stay logged in with Konqueror.
I now can also log in and stay logged in with FF.
Looks to me like one of the most recent minor updates may have solved
the issue. Glad at least one other person had the problem - otherwise I
would think that I am dreaming.
