Public bug reported:
Installing the nvidia binary drivers (tested with versions 173, 177.1
and 177.6) on a ubuntu 8.10 alpha 5 install causes X to crash and revert
to the "low resolution graphics available" screen.
The video card is a geforce 8600 GTS with dual DVI outputs. The monitors
are identical Dell 19" LCD panels. The system was up to date as of
9/16/08, i.e., all available updates were installed.
