I believe the Alpha5 image contains the 2.6.27-2 kernel which I've heard
has this issue you've reported. However, I've had confirmation that the
2.6.27-3 kernel resolves this. Would you be willing to test the latest
daily LiveCD which I believe should contain the newer 2.6.27-3 kernel.
You should be able to get the latest daily image from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/. If you could please test
and let us know your results that would be great. Thanks.
