Correction entry: no bug. I re-checked everything and the awesomebar works well.
Turns out it was a problem with the google quicksearch (smart keyword) bookmark I had created years ago and was dragging along from system to system ever since. The bookmark URL contained a character encoding parameter that probably had worked on Windows, but doesn't work on Ubuntu: http://www.google.de/search?&q=%s&ie=iso-8859-1&hl=de&meta=lr%3Dlang_de After trimming the URL to http://www.google.de/search?&q=%s it works like a charm. My mistake, sorry to have wasted your time. -- No umlaut (äöüß) support in awesomebar (smart keywords) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/270853 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
