Another possible piece of the puzzle: when I try to perform the install using aptitude, I get:
tzdata-java depends upon tzdata (= 2008b-1ubuntu1) --\ The following actions will resolve this dependency: -> Cancel the installation of tzdata-java -> Downgrade tzdata [2008e-1ubuntu0.8.04 (hardy-updates, now) -> 2008b-1ubuntu Is it possible that tzdata-java has a fixed dependency on a version of tzdata that is out of date, and that apt-get won't downgrade tzdata to allow tzdata-java, and hence can't install openjdk? -- apt-get install openjdk-6-jdk fails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/260175 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
