Any news on this? I know this is marked Won't Fix, but here we are months later and this issue is still a problem, and doesn't seem to be going anywhere. As Yashka and Alexey mention, there currently is no fix. You can download the lum headers, but what do you do with them? The lum header package in Ubuntu is not the complete headers, it's just the lum-specific parts of the headers. It's not clear how to get them mixed with the standard headers. Deleting cx88_alsa.ko doesn't help, as you somehow have to build it.
I've spent a couple days working on this issue, and I've completely scoured the net for information on this bug. I've found plenty of people with this problem. Unfortunately, no one has the solution. The worst part is, I've learned enough to know that this problem is specific to lum (linux ubuntu modules) and is therefor a Ubuntu-only issue. We can't go upstream for a fix. By marking this low priority and Won't Fix, it leaves those of us with the issue with no alternatives (other than to switch to another distribution, which, really, I don't want to do). I'm not really even asking for a fix to this particular problem - I'm asking for a fix to compiling things against the lum headers. -- linuxtv.org mercurial repository wont build against hardy kernel due to "disagrees about version of symbol videobuf_* https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/220857 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
