I don't think this is related to asoundconf-gtk, which is a very simple
python application for using the asoundconf macro in a graphical
environment to select the default ALSA sound card, but rather to ALSA
(ie, the kernel) itself. You would do well to elaborate when the "beep
sound" is occasioned.
