This bug has happened so far on all Edgy installs I have performed, I have found this is caused because Edgy places the following line in /etc/fstab:
/dev/ /media/floppy0 auto rw,user,noauto 0 0 It can be fixed by commenting out or removing this line. I do not know the purpose of this line as the floppy drive works perfectly fine with this line commented out.
