linux-image-k7 package no longer has real meaning on edgy; it's sole purpose is
to make sure upgrades from dapper work properly. As such it does not contain a
bootable kernel but only causes the -generic kernel package to be installed.
As you can see in synaptic it is clearly marked as such: "Obsoleted by:
linux-image-generic" and "This package is for upgrades only."
