Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: udev

I've got a wireless card (Network controller: Broadcom Corporation
BCM4310 USB Controller (rev 01)) in my Dell Vostro 1510 which shows up
as eth1 in Intrepid. I tried chaning the "/etc/udev/rules.d/70
-persistent-net.rules" file but it keeps getting overwritten with every
reboot.

This is the entry which is generated in the 70-persisent-net.rules file:

# PCI device 0x14e4:0x4315 (wl)
SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", DRIVERS=="?*",
ATTR{address}=="00:22:5f:18:7c:07", ATTR{type}=="1", KERNEL=="eth*", NAME="eth1"

The card just workes fine perfectly, it just hasn't got the right name
assigned to it.

** Affects: udev (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
