xorg.conf attached, though it's not very useful; it's the stock file from 
dexconf.
Xorg log pending.

Also tried downgrading Mesa back to the Hardy versions, which was an
(expected) spectacular failure - no 3D at all. Was going to try
downgrading xserver-xorg-video-intel, but that would have pulled back
all of X with it, defeating the purpose of the test.
