Maybe it's KDE's fault, but xterm does nothing, neither does eterm.
Anyway, gnome-terminal AND xfce4-terminal use ctrl-shift-v as well as konsole, 
so in terms of freedesktop integration there is no whatsoever reason to change 
the shortcut to shift-insert on a Kubuntu system.
