Hmm, I recently switched to the PulseAudio 0.9.12 packages in this PPA repository: https://launchpad.net/~themuso/+archive
I'm not entirely sure, but I believe this has actually fixed the CPU usage issues on pause. CPU usage of PulseAudio now drops to zero on pause, instead of rising to 100%. It might be useful to do a diff of the channel-remixing code of the newer PulseAudio, and evaluate whether it can be backported in case PulseAudio 0.9.12 can't itself be. The only tradeoff is that now PulseAudio takes 4 or 5 times of removing and reinserting the Audigy2 card before it'll use the surround capabilities on the device. -- PulseAudio fails when Gstreamer is paused https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/221038 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
