The same happens to me. Moreover, the Power Saver setting is not remembered after restarting the PC or even the X. I'm using Kubuntu 6.06.1 AMD64 on Athlon64/NVIDIA adapter (with 'nvidia-glx' driver package installed). Is this issue still alive ?
