After doing an upgrade from 6.06 to 6.10 the system randomly locks up.
I have made no changes to the system.

System Specs are

  CPU AMD Athlon XP
Chipset nVidia nForce2 IGP [Crush 18G]
  nVidia MCP Super I/O
  ntegrated in Chipset
Main Memory Dual Channel Mode (128 bit)
  DDR266
  DIMM Type : 1GB X 3 (3 Gigs RAM total installed)
Integrated VGA Engine in chipset (Integrated Geforce4 MX Graphics)
8X AGP slot (not in use)

1 Western digital 80 gig ATA Hard drive
1 Maxtor 80 Gig Hard Drive
1 Seagate 200G Hard Drive
1 DVD/CD Combo R/W drive

This is not a heat issue as each time the cpu temp is at a stable 104 f
system temp 91 f

CPU fan speed at 4200 rpm
Nvidia fan speed ( yeah i added a fan) 4400 rmp
Case fan speed 4400 (2")

THe only way to gain control is to reboot the system. There is no patteren to
this that I can tell. this will happen even if the machine is booted up and no
other programs are run.

Any advice on this would be great guys.

Pete
