Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-radeon
Since I have fully updated my Intrepid system yesterday, Xorg did not
start after a reboot.
The failsafe mode dialog showed up instead with the following message:
(EE) RADEON(0): ParseTable said: CD_INVALID_OPCODE
Reconfiguring X with the same dialog didn't help (X chooses "radeon" if
not specified, anyway), but I managed to start X successfully with the
experimental "radeonhd" driver after editing the configuration file.
I'm attaching the failsafeX-archive with current configuration and log,
reproduced by specifying "radeon" again in the Device section. Hope this
will get fixed, since I have little hope that proprietary driver will
work in Intrepid, anyway.
My system is ASUS F3Ka laptop, equipped with Radeon Mobility HD 2600.
Earlier version of Intrepid have been running okay with the "radeon" driver for
X.
