Hi, this is my first post here so please let me know if I'm doing something wrong.
I have a similar problem. _Sometimes_, when I leave my machine and my Gnome locks the screen, Pidgin doesn't seem to switch to away. Then, when I receive a message from someone on my buddy list (my desktop is still locked) Pidgin suddenly switches to away. I was told so by several mates. The problem occures using ICQ and Jabber. (It may be of interest that I often have pidgin running over several days and have multiple conversations open all the time. I get disconnected every 24h - and have to log in for my connection manually. So the system is disconnected for some hours a day normaly.) Currently I'm running Gentoo with Pidgin 2.4.3 and Gnome 2.20.3. Please let me know what further information you need to locate the Problem.
