I have the same kernel panic, with Ubuntu 8.0.4 and Xen kernel. This is
a VM on a Citrix XenServer 5.0 (hypervisor) !

PS: I would be happy to test new kernel, but where can i find the package ? 
aptitude install linux-image-2.6.27-xen doesn't work
