I am pretty sure that this is a problem of your xine configs since it works for me and apparently for the others otherwise there would be more posts. I would move ~/.xine to ~/xine-backup or something like that and test it again. Maybe a logout is needed. If this wouldn't help I would purge xine and reinstall it.
