I did a complete reinstall of Ubuntu 8.04 (I'm not ready for beta kernels yet...).
With the standard graphics driver, display sleep works fine. Except to one small glitch: moving the mouse only wakes up the backlight display first, still black screen. then when I move the mouse further, the desktop comes back normally. Waking up with a key works without that glitch. With the accelerated nvidia driver installed by envy, the display didn't wake up until I closed the lid and opened it once. Note that I have to use a custom edid.bin, as the one with all Geforce4 420 Gos is faulty. (without it, the full resolution can't be displayed and there's a black stripe at the right of the screen. the display wouldn't go to sleep without it, too) I've also created the files before I installed the accelerated driver, if you need that later. Here's the ones with the nvidia driver, right after moving the mouse and then closing and opening the lid. ** Attachment added: "version.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/17996290/version.log -- geforce 420 go - sleeping display won't wake up https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/272818 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
