** Description changed: + ##Edited on 27 september 2008## + ## Now it seems a xubuntu specific issue. Read last comments. + ## + Binary package hint: gparted Hi anyone. The bug shows when you follow this steps: 1.- Connect an USB device (I tried with a pendrive). 2.- The USB icon appears in the desktop. 3.- Go to System > Administration > Gparted (sorry, i use the spanish version of Gnome, and i don't know how this entry looks like in english) 4.- Into gparted, select the drive assigned to the pendrive. It will automatically be mounted in the desktop (we have 2 icons for the same device now!) 5.- Now, we close Gparted. We still having 2 icons for the same device in the desktop. 6.- When you try to umount one device, no problem. But 2nd drive will not. And if you remove it anyway, a warning message will be showed because of removing device without being umounted. I use ubuntu 7.04 with gnome. Gparted version es 0.2.5-2ubuntu2 Greetings from Pinto (Madrid - Spain) ** Tags added: xubuntu -- [xubuntu] Unable to umount properly removable USB devices https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/117044 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
