Well, that fix doesn't work for me, probably because the version of gtk- qt-engine in question doesn't include /usr/share/themes/Qt any more; only /usr/share/themes/Qt4. In the previous version (that did include the Qt theme) it worked fine, but Qt4 still exhibited this same freezing behavior with gvim. Though bringing it back would probably allow it to work (and it does look nicer than Raleigh) it still doesn't address the fundamental underlying issue with the Qt4 theme, which will need to be addressed going forward...
