bro: I've tried what you suggested and it seems to have little effect. I still experience severe usability issues with many websites, such as the one Rob Lanphier mentioned:

I've noticed that before installing the new driver my entire firefox would hang when visiting the above website and the only way to get out would be to kill firefox. With the new drivers I notice that I can close the tab and therefore salvage firefox (whereas I could not do this before.) The website is still completely unusable. An example of a website that runs painfully slow that I like to visit a lot is facebook.com This is unfortunate.
