You're using -fglrx not -ati, so you can't use xrandr to set up dual
head (yet). I think you just need some advice on how to configure
-fglrx, so moving this to Answers.

I also notice that lot a people also having similar problem with using dual
head. i am also one of them.
- first i tried Ubuntu live cd 8.04.1 which with out driver patch, from
manufacture live cd drivers fails to load Maximized resolution.
- also it fails to use dual monitor capabilities. how ever with driver patch i
get to maximum resolution easily. but fail to do dual monitors.
- ( i enabled dual monitor setting on catalyst software package)

which screen just lines out with red and color lines. get stuck. even if
time runs out and changes back to original setting it still remain
corrupted. after reboot which it seems fine. ( in lines you can't really
see much. barely press power off button)
also i noticed ubuntu did not automatically pick up my PCI graphic card
interface. is there way to use AGP and PCI at same time?
possible of running 4 monitors? or too much of hope -_-;
