This is not an idea. This is a package request. There is an idea at Brainstorm to have this program available as a "default". The discussion is whether or not it should be a default.
http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/13906/ It certainly makes things much easier for the average newbie user. But it is not even in the Ubuntu repositories. http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=xorg+edit&searchon=names&suite=all§ion=all One does not have to consult Brainstorm before submitting a package request to launchpad. In fact, Brainstorm will mark package suggestions as "Not an Idea" - and if you are fortunate, somebody might be kind enough to tell you how to make a package request (seeing as neither Brainstorm, Ubuntu main site, nor Launchpad will tell you in any obvious place - there is help in the wikis if you know that to "suggest a program" is a process that the technicians call "needs-packaging"). Here's an example of a suggestion for a program at Brainstorm; Idea #10737: Theorur - Video & Audio Streamer - suggest add to repo source packages and AMD64. http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/10737/ If the method of making a package request has changed, or if I have done something wrong then I'd really appreciate it if you would please let me know. -- [needs-packaging] Xorg Edit - GUI for editing Xorg Configuration File for Graphics, Monitior, Mouse, Tablets, etc https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/276614 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
