** Description changed:
I just installed hardy on a lenova 0769-ASU laptop and I do not have any
sound coming from the onboard speakers or the external speakers. The mute and
volume controls show they are changing but no sound. I did notice in alsamixer
that there was no mute capability (the mm box) on the PCM display. Help if you
can!
Thanks.

+ 9/31 - I tried adding the following line in alsa-base (from other bug reports
seen about lenova sound). It did not help.
