As per comment 15, I'm updating status to "new". I just installed the
latest Alpha (installed 09/30 via "update-manager -c -d") and I've just
verified that the problem persists:
Clean start, open movie player, open video, plays fine. Suspend and wake
the machine, open movie player, video plays at 1/10 to 1/100 normal
speed.
