We are using the kickseed configuration file method for installation. We have tried fixing the speed and duplex of the switch port and setting it as auto. This has the same result, ie. failure on first attempt and success on second attempt of network autoconfiguration. As far as I can tell, this step occurs prior to downloading the kickseed file and hence we cannot fix the interfaces until the dhcp address has been obtained.
The reason that this would be important to us is to create a fully automated installation with no interaction required.
