After reveiwing and checking, and trying different operating systems, apperently, this particular processor is a 32 bit dual core, but it is also a 64 bit single core. i guess the two 32's make a single 64 if need be. it's odd. But the Wubi installer just assumes you want the 64 bit version. i don't know why.. with Wubi on this system, the installer stops. doing a direct install with 32 bit or 64 bit ubuntu 8.04 it installs fine. It hangs after the initial installation, and when you log back in and it does all it's installing in the background before the first login.
