I talked with Alberto on IRC about this. In my view we shouldn't let the -gtk package depend on the -qt one. The problem I see is that somebody using gnome upgrading from hardy to intrepid might have tons of kde libs installed just for this, and I don't think this is correct. I'd rather have the -gtk package left as a dummy one (only for the transition) and let the user choose if to use just the textual interface given by envyng-core on install the -qt gui package.
