Have the same problem. No sound after waking up from hibernation (booting up Ubuntu). Attached uname, lspci -vv, lspci -vvn and dmidecode.
Loging out and Login in solves the problem. Sound is back on. Didn't try restarting via rc Scripts as this can brake Gnome mixer someone mentioned above.
