Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-kernel-headers
I tried using the Xubuntu 8.10 Intrepid beta from my USB drive. When booting with persistent mode enabled it gets to the auto-login, when the screen turns blue while loading the desktop I suddenly can't move the cursor anymore and my Caps Lock and Scroll Lock lights on my keyboard are blinking - I'm told this is a kernel panic. When I just boot in live mode (i.e. like a LiveCD) I manage to login and the desktop loads, but after playing around a little bit the same thing happened and I had to forcibly turn off the computer again. As this was all in a live session mode most of the commands from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies probably won't work, but I've attached the output of sudo lspci -vvnn when entered in the installation of Xubuntu 8.04 Hardy. If there's anything else I can do to help, do tell :) PS. I wasn't quite sure against which source package to report this... ** Affects: linux-kernel-headers (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: kernel linux panic usb -- Kernel panic on 8.10 beta https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/277521 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
